Gerard and David have been partners at the same law firm for four
years, but Gerard is ready for a completely different type of
partnership to begin. He doesn’t want to risk their friendship, or their
business, but he’s at the point where he has to say something, to do
something. When David has misgivings about the idea, Gerard takes a
chance and uses a secret from David’s past as leverage. He knows they’ll
be perfect together, and he didn’t earn the nickname “the Beast” by
being afraid of a little thing like blackmail.
David learned the
hard way what a bad idea it is to mix business with pleasure. As
attracted as he is to Gerard, he’s worked too hard to risk all that he’s
built for a relationship that might end the same way his last one did.
But Gerard isn’t going to take no for an answer. When David is presented
with a very detailed and explicit contract, he’s shocked, yet also
intrigued. He tells himself he goes along with it to keep other people
